If you can cure breast cancer through lifestyle changes, why is it we have those 3 awful treatments that are in place today for the problem? That is called "The Politics of Cancer". Breast cancer and all other cancers, when first diagnosed most definitely can be cured by a change in lifestyle but don't expect it to be endorsed by our mainstream medicine - there is no profit in it.

The causes of breast cancer are well known. There are many people who know these facts and if you've been diagnosed with the breast cancer it's this information you need. A hundred years ago breast cancer was a rare disease. Today it has become a major problem. The highest rates of breast cancer are in all the developed countries and it's rare in undeveloped countries, so it's not difficult to find the reason why it is occurring today.

The way to cure breast cancer through lifestyle changes are to remove the known causes and use the amazing self-healing powers of the body that we all possess. The human body possesses a superb system of natural defences against all diseases, including cancer. It will cure cancer naturally and permanently, so it won't spread or return. Remember, if the body is smart enough to create cancer, then it makes sense that it must be smart enough to cure it also.

Breast cancer is caused by the way we live with our high consumption of processed foods, most of which have a high proportion of fat, salt or refined sugar, all known contributing factors to cancer. Also processed foods are all old food and are nutritionally dead foods. Some other causative factors for breast cancer are diets high in animal products, the consumption of alcohol everyday and the use of hormone therapy.

Our sedentary lifestyle has a big influence on why there is so much breast cancer. The car is mostly responsible for our lack of exercise and then there is the television set which doesn't exactly encourage exercise either. These days we surround ourselves with labour saving devices, none of which helps the human body get the exercise it so badly needs. The reason we need exercise is that our immune system, which is our all important built-in repair system, needs muscular activity to allow it to function properly.

The chemicals we use on a daily basis also have an effect on why one get breast cancer and all these chemicals come from the petro-chemical industry. There are hundreds of them and the ones that have been suspected to cause breast cancer are the chemicals in antiperspirants, sunscreens, and hair dyes. While some of these chemicals have been tested for short term reaction, none have been tested for long term health problems like cancer.

Lastly stress in the form of emotional stress or unforgiving stress is known to bring on all cancers. If you've had a major disruption in your life like a death of a love one or financial crises seek the help from a guidance councillor.

By changing your lifestyle you are addressing the causes of breast cancer, not just the problem, which is the cancer growth. The reason one gets breast cancer has very little to do with the breasts, that's only where the problem is, and that is why the cancer returns with the treatments today, they haven't addressed the underlying cause; they've only removed the symptom of a problem.

Healing is quicker and more effective if a person takes central responsibility for their health and has an active involvement in the healing process. A change in lifestyle with the correct diet is your first line of defence.

Breast cancer or cancer of the breast is characteristically a lump in the breast. This disease affects both man and women. But it affects more women than men because of the sexual and reproductive nature of women. It is the second most common type of cancer worldwide after lung cancer.

It is usually marked by changes in breast size or shape and nipple inversion. Research shows that women in the United States have more incidence of breast cancer than any other women globally. Breast cancer is the most widespread type of cancer in the United States.

It normally does not start with any sign and symptom. But as time goes on it shows signs and symptoms such as skin changes and pain. Diagnosis often takes several weeks and involves all kinds of tests.

There are no known causes of breast cancer. You cannot contact it from another person because it is not contagious. But medical research has shown that certain women are more vulnerable than other women depending on certain risk factors.

Age is one of such factors. The chance of getting cancer increases as the age of a woman increases. Breast cancer is prevalent in women over 60 years old.

Another risk factor is personal history of cancer of the breast. This means that if a woman had cancer of the breast in one breast she is very likely to have it in the other breast.

Breast cancer can be genetic. So if your sister, mother or grandmother had cancer of the breast you may have it because it could be transferred through the genes.

Reproductive and menstrual history can contribute to the chances of having cancer of the breast. If a woman had her first child at old age she is most likely to have breast cancer. Women that had their first menstrual cycle before the age of 12 are at an increased risk of breast cancer. Women that underwent menopause after the age of 55 are also at an increased risk of breast cancer.

Race is another factor. Research has shown that white women are at an increased risk of breast cancer than Latin American, Asian, African, and African American women.

In-depth medical research has shown that there is no link between abortion or miscarriage and breast cancer. The same research also shows that being overweight or obese after menopause can increase the risk of developing breast cancer.

Lack of exercise increases the risk of developing breast cancer because people that get little or no exercise become overweight or obese and being overweight or obese is one of the risk factors. Being physically active may help to reduce the chances of suffering from breast cancer.

Alcoholism also increases the risk of getting breast cancer. The more alcohol a woman drinks the more her chances of developing cancer of the breast.

Treatment of breast cancer includes surgery, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy and radiation treatment. Medical research shows that surgery is the best because other methods of treatments have more severe side effects than surgery. The side effects include abdominal pain, drug or medication addiction, kidney failure, anxiety, back pain, anemia, and allergic reactions such as skin rashes and eczematoid dermatitis.

I will advise you to talk to your doctor before taking any medication if you have a history of any disease in order to avoid the side-effects of using harmful medications.

But it is important to note that most women who have obvious risk factors don't get breast cancer. So the best way to ascertain your breast condition is to meet your doctor and explain to him your concerns. Your doctor may be able to advise you on how to reduce your risk.

The reason alternative cancer treatments are not more widely known has little to do with their alleged therapeutic ineffectiveness and far more to do with political control and the therapy marketplace.

Many of the treatments are on the "unproven methods of cancer management" list maintained by the American Cancer Society which is, effectively, a "blacklist".

Medical doctors will know little if anything at all about alternative cancer treatments for a number of reasons.

Medical schools don't teach alternative treatments and medical journals rarely contain articles about alternative treatments. Medical journals are published for the allopathic establishment, and they are mostly financed by advertisements from pharmaceutical companies. Doctors receive a lot of negative information about alternative treatments from the American Medical Association (AMA) and the pharmaceutical industry.

Internet "Quackwatches" and so forth decry alternative therapies even when there is contradictory evidence to their effectiveness plus their state medical boards may fine them heavily, suspend their license to practice or even revoke it.

The American Cancer Society (ACS), the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and other Government cancer bodies will not investigate or promote alternative treatments. If your doctor prescribes treatments that are not FDA approved, he or she can be sued or lose their license. A medical doctor can only prescribe treatments that are Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved. Their state medical boards may fine them heavily, suspend their license to practice or even revoke it.

The federal government can close them down and confiscate their property and they may lose their right to see patients in hospitals not to mention other doctors/peers openly ridicule and criticize them. It is no wonder your doctor will not know or tell you about alternative cancer treatments, because they could literally lose everything they have and worked for their whole lives.

There are many alternative treatments for cancer that will not provide Big Pharma a single penny of revenue, much less profits. This means these same treatments will not provide the media with a single penny of revenue. Guess which treatments the media pushes?

There is a war going on in medicine today; a war between orthodox medicine and alternative medicine. The war is being fought with money and information. The war is to control what you know, and don't know, about cancer treatments. When a new discovery is made, it comes down to the profitablity. If there is no profit, the treatment is buried.

Find a natural substance that cures something, bury this fact, then fabricate, synthesize, and mutate the key natural substance, then patent the mutation, and make huge profits.

That is why there is "no scientific evidence" for alternative treatments, no one is looking, because they cannot be patented and thus are not profitable enough. The reason there is no official "scientific evidence" for alternative cancer treatments and cancer prevention treatments is that they are not highly profitable to Big Pharma. It is impossible, by law, for a substance to be considered to have "scientific evidence" unless Big Pharma submits it to the FDA, and they will only submit things that are very, very profitable to them.

To the cancer establishment, a cancer patient is a profit center. The actual clinical and scientific evidence does not support the claims of the cancer industry. Conventional cancer treatments are in place as the law of the land because they pay, not heal, the best. Decades of the politics-of-cancer-as-usual have kept you from knowing this, and will continue to do so unless we wake up to their reality.

One of the things I realized when I had cancer was how uncomfortable many of my friends were when they found out. I found myself having to comfort them. It can be hard on everyone involved. In this article, I want to talk about two aspects of what to say when a friend has cancer. They are the person with cancer and the person close to them.

When a person has cancer they need to talk to someone. Some people will and some people won't, but as a friend you need to be available for them to talk. As I was writing this article some great principles came to mind. I think these principles will be very helpful in knowing what to say to a friend who has cancer. They are:

1. Get Yourself Together - What people with a cancer diagnosis need most is someone they can lean and depend on. This can manifest itself in someone with whom they can talk or it could be someone to whom they have confidence in. Regardless, you need to be strong because friends who are not strong both in word and deed could be a problem.

2. Do More Listening, Than Talking - Most people who hear about a person having cancer don't know what to do. Many times they either don't make contact with the person or say the wrong thing when they do see them. I am reminded of one of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Seek First to Understand, Than To Be Understood. If you listen first, you will find out that it provides you a better understanding of the situation and a greater platform to say something that could be beneficial.

3. Think About What You Might Say Beforehand - It is always good to think about what you are going to say before you say it. Find out about their particular cancer if you can and see if there are resources, such as support groups and the like that could be beneficial. Listening will allow you the chance to see opportunities that may arise to provide helpful information. One of the biggest issues when you first get cancer is not knowing. This is the breeding ground for most fear when it comes to cancer. Any beneficial information you can provide to reduce that person from feeling in the dark could be helpful. One word of caution here. It is probably better to wait for them to ask you for advice as oppose to volunteering it.

I know I didn't tell you specifically what to say. Why? Because truthfully there is no real way to tell you what to say. Each situation is unique. The key with knowing what to say is ensuring that YOU are in the right state of mind. I wish I could say that everything that was said to me by my friends was helpful, but that would not be the truth. Some of it I could have done without, but I knew that they meant well. My hope is to help anyone reading this article with knowing that it is OK to just listen and say nothing. Sometimes your presence says more than anything that comes out of your mouth.

A breast cancer diagnosis is followed by many questions and one of the first is, "What is the treatment for breast cancer?" Fortunately, there are many treatment options available for every type and stage of breast cancer today however, no one treatment is right for everyone. Often, more than one form of treatment is required depending on the type of cancer, its stage and desired outcomes. Generally, cancers in an early stage respond best to treatment. Advanced stage cancers, those that have spread to other organs, reach a point where they can no longer be cured. The focus of treatment, at this point, is to control the spread of cancer and relieve any symptoms caused by the cancer.

There are two classifications of treatment for breast cancer. One is local, which means treating the tumor directly, and the other is systemic, a treatment that fights cancer throughout the entire body. Drugs are systemic therapies.

The most commonly used treatments for breast cancer are surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and biologic or immunotherapy. Both surgery and radiation are local treatments. They are used to remove, destroy or control cancer cells. The first line of defense is often surgery. In the past, surgery usually meant a mastectomy or removal of the entire breast. Today, a procedure known as a lumpectomy, removal of the tumor only, is much more common. A lumpectomy is usually performed when the cancer is found early, the lump is small and in only one part of the breast. Once cancer cells have spread, a mastectomy is more effective in removing most or all of the cells.

Radiation is another local treatment and often follows surgery. In some instances, it is used to shrink a large tumor before it is surgically removed. It is a relatively simple, effective, and well-tolerated therapy. Radiation targets a specific area and is designed to kill cancer cells.

Systemic treatments are used to destroy or control cancer cells that have spread throughout the body. Chemotherapy, hormone therapy and biologic or immunotherapy are systemic treatments. These are all drug therapies. Chemotherapy is probably the most well known. There are more than 100 different drugs available. One or more of these drugs is given intravenously (into a vein), by mouth in pill form, or with a shot. Side effects can range from mild to significant, but many people tolerate chemotherapy quite well.

Some cancers require natural hormones that occur in the body to grow and spread. Hormone therapy is the use of hormones or hormone-like drugs to stop the body's natural hormones from working effectively. Treatment can include medications or surgery. This treatment is different than hormone replacement therapy, which is used to treat menopause.

Research indicates that the body's immune system may distinguish normal cells from cancer cells. An abnormal or overwhelmed immune system may allow cancer cells to develop. Biologic or immunotherapy is used to stimulate the body's own immune system to better fight the cancer cells.

This is just a brief overview in answer to every patient's question, "What is the treatment for breast cancer?" In short, there is no "one-size-fits-all" line of attack against cancer. Each treatment is as individual as the person receiving it. Ask your doctor before making any decisions on which type of treatment is best for you. With research, new treatments continue to evolve. Know what is happening with breast cancer research and new treatments. The next one may be the cure.

I have been interested in cancer since my brother Jerry was diagnosed with colon cancer five years ago. After two surgeries he is doing well and is still cancer free. The first surgery was to remove a large tumor from his colon and the second was to remove his colon. Needless to say he has been through a lot and the road to recovery was a long one. About two years ago my brother Fred was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Man, you talk about devastating! Well after about a month or two the shock started to ware off and treatments started to begin. My brother Fred was in denial for, what seemed to be a long time. I wanted to write about both of my brothers cancers but, decided against it thinking it would hurt them some how so I decided to write about cancers that no one in the family has as of yet. If you'd like to send a massage of support to my brothers Jerry and Fred, leave a comment here and I'll see that they get it.
